WINDSOR ELVISFEST - WHAT A WEEKEND!

Windsor's ELVISFEST 2007 has come and gone in a splendid fashion, thanks in large part to the year-long efforts of organizers Edie Curtin and Richard Rosenthal with their legion of volunteers for the Windsor Centres For Seniors. The big winners were the fans, who witnessed many layers of competition by an outstanding field of Elvis Tribute Artists. This was a special competition because the overall points champion from the Pro Early & Vegas and Non-Pro Early & Vegas categories would receive the magic pass to represent Windsor at the "Ultimate Elvis" competition hosted by Elvis Presley Enterprises in Memphis during Elvis Week. This year, the ETAs had another chance to showcase their talents for the Finals as the Top 5 in each category were scored on two separate occasions by the four "KING'S COURT" judges, performing 2 songs each time. The final results are printed below.
The Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening shows at the Chrysler Centre Theatre were real fan pleasers. Friday's featured performer was Anthony Von, doing a shortened version of his "Forever Elvis" production, preceded by performances by last year's Elvisfest winners. On Saturday evening there was some of the competition followed by an incredible show with Stephen Kabakos. Sunday evening it was the Finals with much drama as the winners were crowned. Special Kudos for Windsor's special emcee all three evenings - GaryElvis Britt (replete with his famous "Duck" joke). On behalf of the "KING'S COURT", our thanks to everyone involved with Windsor's Elvisfest, including the terrific ETAs.the friendly hotel staff.and the congenial restaurateurs with their succulent menus.
