The very best Elvis judges anywhere
by Nevin Grant Stouffville hosted her 6th Annual Elvisfest June 8 - 10. There was a strong showing of talented Elvis Tribute Artists, and after Friday evening's thunderstorms, Saturday & Sunday presented warm, sunny weather and the competitions were watched by a healthy crowd of spectators. The King's Court was represented by judges Wendy King, Burt Thombs, Heather Grant, Nevin Grant and tabulator Mary Thombs. The Festival was saddened on Saturday with word that organizer Ruth LeBlanc's husband Rick passed away after a valiant battle with cancer. Doug McKenzie enjoyed a super Sunday, moving from his 9th place finish on Saturday to take second place in the overall competition. Stouffville's 2006 Winner, John Cigan, performed a couple of tunes on Saturday and Sunday to open the proceedings. On Friday and Saturday evenings, Elvis Tribute Artists put in appearances and performances at the Earl Of Whitchurch pub at Crossroads and Cedar Beach. Money was raised for The Cancer Society. |
