Reflections 30 years

This August marks the thirtieth year since the world lost it's single most important and influential entertainer, Elvis Presley.

Could any of us have imagined there would still be this much interest and activity surrounding the Elvis legend three decades after his death?

Well... yes.

Elvis himself was convinced he had done nothing significant enough in his career for people to remember him.

Elvis... you were so wrong. Quite the contrary.. how cou ld we ever forget you?

Millions of us remember you every day... when we listen to your music... or see an amazing, passionate performance or catch a glimpse of that winning "Elvis smile".

How could we cease to feel your spirit?

The power and life force of your presence still continues to impact us today. It's almost like you never left. We still hear your voice and feel your magic. You still have a hold on our imaginations and our hearts.

To many of us, you are as important to our lives as family, and we will never forget what you gave of yourself while you were here.

You have touched untold millions of people in a way that continues to give. Even though you are not here physically, your spirit is still very much alive and as powerful as ever.

That spirit lives on in dozens of today's entertainers. People throughout the world continue to cite the magnitude of your positive influence on their own lives and careers.

Your personal history and legend have withstood the most intense judgement... and has survived.

You were one of a kind, and there will never... can never... be another like you.

There's only one Elvis... and he's the only one we'll ever need.
